TELIMBELA

Telimbela, Bolivar Province, is a small town on the western slopes of the Andes on the road from Chimbo to Caluma. The terrain is mountainous, rising from about 850m altitude in the valley of the rio Telimbela to over 2,000m at Cerro Naranja Pata. The area is largely deforested, however numerous small forest remnants remain. The area was visited in July 2004.
